A few years back, our man Phil travelled to Mexico on a mission to learn how to make the most authentic tortillas this side of Tipperary.

Visiting the milpas, molinos and tortillerias, he learnt the ancient Aztec process (nixtamalisation) that gives them their unique flavour. He wasn’t the usual tortilla apprenctice and our pasty Irish Founder soon gained a new nickname… Blanco Niño

Armed with this knowledge and inspired by the tastes and traditions of Mexico, Phil headed home to open the doors to Ireland’s first (and probably only) Tortilleria. Five years on, we’re proud to be making Mexican corn tortillas for chefs and restaurateurs across 13 European countries, and counting. And in 2019, we’re looking forward to launching tortilla chips.

Whist Ireland is our home, Mexico has our heart. Blanco Niño owes its existence to this extraordinary country – it’s people, food and history. That’s why we’re proud to be working with small heritage producers in local communities, that support ancient and sustainable practices. We have a lot of love for Mexico, and we want to honour our partners – find out more on our blog.

We’re extremely excited to be launching three truly unique flavours of tortilla chips in 2019. We’re seeking investors, travellers and food lovers to help bring these chips to local shops near you.
